The Job-Share Parenting Series:

Arguing, blaming, gaslightling, denying - If they acted this way in any other situation, they would be kicked out of the restaurant, banned from the library, or put on the no fly list. Yet when it happens between parents during a custody proceeding it is expected and allowed.

How can we see through the nonsense and hold parents accountable? Learn a different, unique approach to evaluating parental behaviors.

We can't fire parents, but they can be demoted if they aren't doing their job right. This series looks at the evaluation of four parenting behaviors in the context of viewing parenting as a job-share:

Communication
Decision Making
Problem Solving
Conflict resolution (This Course)

These courses can be taken individually or as part of the larger series.

Each of these activities will be covered by a course in this series (see webinar dates above). Four areas of primary interest and responsibility of job-share parenting are identified: 1. Education, 2. Health well-being and safety, 3. Optional enrichment activities, and 4. Family. Best Interest factors will be identified that are relevant to these activities and interests.

Observing and Evaluating Parental Decision Making:

How often are the parents in conflict?
Are they able to resolve these conflicts - or do they continue on and on?
Are parents open to compromise or other ways to come to a resolution?

This presentation focuses on conflict resolution by post-separation parents. Conflicts arise when parents take positions on an issue. The ability to resolve these conflicts then depends on the intensity of the conflict and how mutually incompatible the different positions are.

This course will assist evaluators in ways to observe and evaluate how parents resolve - or do not resolve - conflicts. Participants will learn:

How to identify factors that contribute to and underlie conflict
Conflict resolution processes and tools
The Dos and Don'ts of conflict resolution
Evaluating process styles, use of language and effectiveness of the process
Using positional thinking and underlying interests as an evaluative tool
