EMDRIA Certified Therapist, Approved Consultant, and Advanced Trainer Arilda Surridge is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and the founder of Wellness Counseling Inc., where since 2016 she has been dedicated to creating spaces for both healing and professional growth. She is an EMDRIA Certified Therapist, Approved Consultant, and Advanced Trainer with specialized expertise in trauma treatment, treating couples, and integrative approaches to care.
Arilda is the author of Treating Couples with EMDR, a resource that helps clinicians bring EMDR into the unique challenges and strengths of couple’s work. In addition, she has developed and teaches trainings on Treating Couples with EMDR, Vicarious Trauma, and The Ethical Imperative of Self-Care for Mental Health Providers. Her programs are offered nationally and internationally, and are known for blending strong clinical foundations with practical tools that clinicians can carry into their everyday work.
Through therapy, trainings, and international retreats, Arilda brings together her passion for trauma-informed practice, cultural awareness, and the importance of sustaining the clinician behind the work. Colleagues and clients alike appreciate her grounded, compassionate presence and her commitment to helping people transform challenge into growth—whether that is in the therapy room, the training space or on retreat.
